Overview Nicholas Marcellus Hentz (1797-1856) was a French-born entomologist, engraver, and miniature painter who spoke several languages and studied medicine in Paris and at Harvard. Overview Eldridge Reeves Fenimore Johnson (1899-1986) was a pioneer in the development of underwater photography and was also an explorer, yachtsman and researcher. Scope and Contents These eight colored proofs of fishes were laid in a copy of John Edwards Holbrook's Ichthyology of South Carolina (1860). The plates for this edition were done by A. J.
