American Entomological Society Ballot Box and Printing Plate

Scope and Contents

This collection came from the American Entomological Society. The collection contains one wooden ballot box with thirty white voting balls, twenty-three brown voting balls, and seven black voting balls. The original order of the collection was: the ballot box was sitting on top of the engraving plate from page 43 of "The Practical Entomologist" Volume II, No. 4, January, 1867.

Chronometer

Scope and Contents While this chronometer has no direct connection to any expeditions done by the academy, it is still a great piece of a larger collection. This maritime tool is in good condition and still ticks when wound with a small key that resides in the upper right hand corner of the chronometer box. The chronometer itself is situated inside of a square wooden box with a glass top on its wooden lid.
