Ellen (Rushmore) McKeon photograph collection
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of photographs of instructors, students, and classrooms in the Department of Domestic Science and Arts. Also included are photos taken in Wissahickon Creek and three team pictures from the women's basketball team. Identified faculty and students in the collection include: Albert P. Brubaker, Ellen Morris, Katherine J. Coolidge, Helen M. Spring, Anna Anthony, Maude G. Hopkins.

Biographical Note
According to her entry in her Smith College Decennial Class Book, Ellen Rushmore McKeon went into "domestic science work" after leaving Smith, She studied at Drexel Institute and graduated in 1898. After spending a year teaching at the Agricultural College in Michigan, she returned to the east coast, teaching domestic science at Manual Training High School in Brooklyn, NY. According to her daughter, Mrs. McKeon spent her life in teaching.
