ANSP Petitions and Resolutions Papers

Collection — Box: Small Collections 13
Identifier: ANSP-Coll-0602

Scope and Contents

These petitions and resolutions are close pieces, possibly written by the person proposing the action, as a note for the secretary when copying his minutes. Most of them are transcribed into the Minutes of the Academy but oftentimes changed in wording or intent. The petitions number only four and were made mostly to the legislature of Pennsylvania, or to some branch of the Federal Government, their inclusive dates being 1837-1876. The resolutions have been arranged in two groups, first those which are clearly of subject interest, with no person's name attached to identify them. The second group is arranged by the authors or persons about whom the resolution is made.
