Scope and Contents This volume contains Rehn's field notes from his 1956 Orthoptera survey (pages 1 to 88). Journal entries date from July 27th to September 25th. Rehn began collecting on August 1st in Yanktown, South Dakota. Over the course of the month of August, the survey continued through the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona. Scope and Contents This volume contains Rehn's accounts of three separate field trips. The first account (pages 1 to 9) describes Rehn's 1959 field trip to Springfield, Ohio during the first nineteen days of August. On August 5th Rehn suffered severe stomach hemorrhaging, and was hospitalized at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Ohio from August 6th through the 14th.
