Journal entries date from July 20th to September 24th. The expedition began in southern Colorado (La Junta), and continued toward Albuquerque, New Mexico, then westward into the Mojave Desert and the Arizona/Nevada/California border. Scope and Contents This volume contains Rehn's field notes from his 1956 Orthoptera survey (pages 1 to 88). Journal entries date from July 27th to September 25th. Rehn began collecting on August 1st in Yanktown, South Dakota. Over the course of the month of August, the survey continued through the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Nevada, California, Utah and Arizona.
