Scope and Contents These eight colored proofs of fishes were laid in a copy of John Edwards Holbrook's Ichthyology of South Carolina (1860). The plates for this edition were done by A. J. Ibbotson and Antoine Sonrel and colored by Jacques Burkhardt. These loose proofs were possibly intended for the second volume, which was never published. The plates are labeled as follows: Plate 1.
