Overview Dr. James L. Kitchen was a prominent Philadelphia physician and homeopath who was born on March 8, 1800. Dr. Kitchen graduated from the University of Pennsylvania College of Medicine in 1822 and continued his studies in Europe until 1824. He became acquainted with homeopathy in the late 1830s and was an instrumental part of the founding and administrative function of the Homeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania.
