Nine volumes of DVOC minute books dating from 1964-2003. - EDR

This scrapbook consists of a variety of material pertaining to the early days of the society. Lists of species observed at various nearby areas, minutes of the meetings, lists of officers, news clippings, photographs and snapsshots of birds and members, announcements of meetings and programs, various additions to the Club's constitution, circulars which were sent to members, an abstact of the Proceedings from 1890-91 and various letters and orginal illustrations. Included as of special importance is the biograghical material about William E. Hughes, the ornithologist of the Peary Greenland Expedition; a photograph of Hughes with news clipping and reference to published accounts of the trip. Another special feature is a history of the founding of the organization by W.L. Baily, and later history of the activites written by Witmer Stone.
