Volume 22: Orthoptera surveys, 1937 and 1952, 1937, 1952
Scope and Contents
The first portion of this volume (pages 1 to 98) contains Rehn's notes from his 1937 Southwestern Orthoptera survey in the southwestern United States, including Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California and Texas. Journal entries date from July 6th to September 9th. Collecting began in La Junta, Colorado on July 12th, and concluded in the San Antonio region of Texas on September 2nd.
The second portion of this volume (pages 101 to 119) contains Rehn's journal entries from his brief 1952 Highlands, North Carolina survey from the 9th to the 24th of August. Rehn reached the Highlands Biological Station on August 12th, and worked collecting orthopterans in the region until August 22nd. Journal entries mention Rehn's interactions with persons associated with the Highlands Laboratory, including Thelma Howell and Ralph Sargent.
The final pages of this volume (pages 297 to 300) contain a list of specimens collected on Rehn's 1937 expedition. The list begins on page 300 and ends on page 297.
