Biography

Mary C. Ware Dennett studied at the School of Art and Design in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in 1891, then took a teaching position at Drexel in the Department of Fine Art and Applied Arts in 1894, where she taught until her marriage in 1900. She was involved in the Arts and Crafts movement and ran an architectural and interior design firm with her husband, William Hartley Dennett. Ware Dennett was a promninent women's rights activist and a participant in the anti-war movement during WWI.
