George Henry Horn Papers
George H. Horn, practicing physician, army surgeon and distinguished Coleopterist was closely associated with both the Academy and the Entomological Society. He became president of the latter and made important bequests
to it of study collections and funds.
This collection contains a biography of Horn, biographical notes, a copy of part of his will, a 144-page paper on Coleoptera, correspondence, and 12 certificates of memberships and honors in various societies.

Trained as a medical man, Skinner devoted much of his later life to entomology, his research interests being in Lepidoptera. He edited Entomological News from 1890-1910. This collection contains correspondence, a bibliography of his writings, a notebook on Lepidoptera, scientific articles and annotations. The latter appear in his Catalogue of North American Rhopalocera, and in Dyar's Catalogue of North American Lepidoptera.
