Scope and Contents
While this chronometer has no direct connection to any expeditions done by the academy, it is still a great piece of a larger collection. This maritime tool is in good condition and still ticks when wound with a small key that resides in the upper right hand corner of the chronometer box. The chronometer itself is situated inside of a square wooden box with a glass top on its wooden lid. Crawford Hallock Greenewalt (1902-1993) was a chemical engineer and the President of the DuPont Company from 1948 to 1962.
