The first part of this volume (pages 1 to 80) constitutes Rehn's field journal from his 1939 "Southern Appalachian-Ozarks Survey," from July 29th to September 9th. Rehn's title of this survey is misleading, in that the survey included exploration throughout the southern and southwestern United States. Scope and Contents From the Item: The first portion of this volume (pages 1 to 89) contains Rehn's journal entries from his "1947 Southwestern Orthoptera Survey." Journal entries date from July 16th to September 6th. Collecting began on July 25th in the region between Trinidad and Alamosa, Colorado. The area surveyed includes southern Colorado, southern Utah, northern Arizona, Southern Nevada, south-eastern California, central New Mexico, and northern Texas.
