Reimer papers include correspondence and memos, administrative records, policies, publication drafts, reports, illustrations, photographs, and objects related to the operations of the Academy of Natural Sciences, the Academy’s Diatom Herbarium, the international diatom community, and Reimer’s publications.

Scope and Contents The original contents of of this collection comprised pen-and-ink drawings of rotifers made to illustrate Frank J. Myers' papers on the subject. These illustrations were given to the Academy by Myers's grandchildren, Larry and Marina Gopodze, in 1968. The rest of the collection came down from entomology in 2010. Overview Born in Topeka, Kansas, in 1907, Dr. Ruth Myrtle Patrick spent most of her childhood in Kansas City, Missouri. Her interest in the natural sciences was shaped by her father's passion for the natural world. Her long association with the Academy of Natural Sciences began in 1933 as a volunteer. By 1937 she was curator of the Academy's Leidy Microscopical Collection and involved in the consolidation and expansion of the Academy’s diatom herbarium, but not on the Academy payroll until the early...

The Sam Fuller papers hold Fuller’s field notes, subject files, and writings from his time at the Academy. These records date from 1970 to 1979, and are arranged alphabetically. This collection would be useful for researchers interested in the provenance of specimens collected by Fuller, or his work on the Upper Mississippi River. For his collaborative work with George Davis, there may be materials of interest in ANSP.Coll.804 Malacology Department records, Series IV.
