This collection contains catalogues (also commonly titled "announcements," "calendars," or "bulletins") and fund raising pamphlets issued by women's medical schools, describe and give brief histories, curricula, and general information. They are often illustrated with drawings or photographic reproductions. Also included are reports from the Countess of Dufferin's Fund, a British organization that supplied female medical aid to the women of India.

Scope and Contents Harris, a native of New Jersey, became a close friend and patron of John James Audubon. He supported some of his expeditions financially and joined him in two western trips, one in 1837 to Texas and the other in 1843 up the Missouri River. Marion Spencer Fay (1898-1990) served as dean and president of the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania from 1943 to 1963 and promoted the recruitment of, education for, and recognition of women physicians. This collection includes the texts of many of Dr. Fay's speeches as well as a selection of professional and administrative papers from her time as dean and president of the Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania.
