Abstract

This collection consists of the records of the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design, continuing UR 4.009, the Nesbitt College of Design Arts records. The collection has been arranged in 11 series; Architecture, Cinema and Video, Chorus, Dance, Drexel Historic Costume Collection, Fashion Design and Design and Merchandizing, Louisa Hanshew, MAD Dragon, Promotional Material, Television Management, and Theatre.

Abstract

The football team had its unofficial beginning at the Drexel Institute in 1892 as a student-organized sport and was discontinued by Drexel's Board of Trustees in 1973. Records consist of game programs, newspaper clippings, administrative files, rosters, score sheets, and press material. The bulk is from 1950 to 1973; materials prior to 1950 consists mainly of game programs. Administrative files include a brief history of the football program up to the 1930s.

Scope and content note This collection contains the papers of Kathryn Musser Smith, who graduated from the Drexel Institute in 1916. The collection consists of ephemera gathered during Smith’s time as a student, including roster cards, dance cards, report cards, event invitations, class schedules, and correspondence. Overview

This collection consists of photographs, proof sheets, zip disks and CDs of pictures taken for the Lexerd yearbook. The date range is from 1962 to 2007, but the bulk of the items are from 1999 to 2007. Some of the photographs in this collection can also be found in the Lexerd yearbooks. Subjects of the photographs include athletics, views of the city and campus, Drexel events, faculty and academic departments, fraternities and sororities, and student organizations.

Scope and content note The collection contains nine boxes of records related to Drexel’s men basketball team that were created between 1953 and 2001, and cover the period from 1895, when Drexel played it first basketball game, to 2001. The collection is arranged by type of material.
