Foundation Meeting Minutes and Constitution

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of four drafts or copies of meeting minutes from January 25, 1812 when the founders of the Academy discussed forming a society "on subjects of natural science," two copies of which are signed by those in attendance. The collection also contains four drafts of the constitutional act dated March 17, 1812, establishing the Academy of Natural Sciences as an entity and outlining the organization's structure and operation.
