The Hahnemann University Photograph Collection is an extensive collection that covers the people and buildings of Hahnemann from its beginnings in 1848 as the Homeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania to 2004 as Hahnemann University Hospital.Much of the collection is a photographic record of the buildings that were used and constructed by the organization throughout its history. Christian Freidrich Samuel Hahnemann [1755-1843] was a German physician known to be the father of homeopathic medicine. His teachings, techniques and writings were the main basis of homeopathic medical practice, and he was seen and studied as a guiding figure by the homeopathic physicians of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
