Scope and Contents
Subseries “Xb. Commencement programs and related materials” dates from 1865 to 2009, with bulk dates of 1975 to 2001. Records included here are primarily commencement programs, as well as invitations, tickets, orders of ceremonies, addresses, photographs, curricula vitae of honorees, and press releases. These programs date from the late 1800s through the beginning of the 21st century and help to exemplify many of the changes Hahnemann made throughout the years. This subseries also documents recipients of honorary degrees and influential speakers, such as Robert Jarvik and Gerard Piel. The programs in this subseries come from many of the schools and iterations of Hahnemann, including Hahnemann Medical College, Homeopathic Medical College, the School of Nursing, the School of Radiologic Technology, the Institute for Human Resource Development, the College of Allied Health Professions, Hahnemann University, the Graduate School, Allegheny University School of Health Professions, Allegheny University School of Nursing, Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University, School of Medicine, and Drexel University College of Medicine. The variety and span of these programs provides a glimpse at how students were honored at the end of their education. Many of the programs are signed by various attendees, especially the speakers and honorary degree recipients. This subseries is arranged chronologically.
