The collection includes Elizabeth Sutton Jelley's course grades from both undergraduate and graduate quarters at the Drexel Institute, three 20x24-inch hand drawn and lettered course projects (a diagram of a home and gardens, a diagram of a living room, and a chart of colors used for interior decorating), a photocopy of her 1931 diploma, the August 1936 Drexel Institute Bulletin on "Professional College Education for Women," and course work and notes from Home Economics 614 (Nutrition and Food Utilization).

Biographical Note
Elizabeth Sutton Jelley (Lawson) (1909-1991) of Phoenixville, Pennsylvania attended Drexel Institute starting in approximately 1927 and graduated in 1931 with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics. During World War II she joined the U.S. Navy and taught navigation to pilots as a link-training officer. In 1946-1947, she returned to Drexel and took graduate courses in Home Economics. She taught high school in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She did volunteer work at the Valley Forge Army Hospital, Red Cross Bloodmobile in Chester County, Phoenixville Hospital Bookworm, and Phoenixville Public Library, where she ran the Saturday morning story hour for many years. In approximately 1947 she married Charles Lawson. She was survived by one daughter and three grandchildren.
