Administrative History

The Academic Council was established in February 1960 at the request of President James Creese to coordinate academic policies among the colleges of the Drexel Institute. It was initially called the Council of Deans, but since many non-academic deans did not regularly attend meeting sof the council, the name was changed that April to the Academic Council. It was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty.
