Academic Council records
Overview
The Academic Council was established by President James Creese in 1960 to coordinate university-wide academic policies. This collection consists of the meeting minutes of the council from its founding in 1960 through 1967, as well as supplemental items such as agendas, correspondence, notes, and aggregate statistics about the student body. The material is arranged chronologically.

Administrative History
The Academic Council was established in February 1960 at the request of President James Creese to coordinate academic policies among the colleges of the Drexel Institute. It was initially called the Council of Deans, but since many non-academic deans did not regularly attend meeting sof the council, the name was changed that April to the Academic Council. It was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty.
