Scope and Contents

According to appraiser Donald Cresswell on 24 April 2006:

Copper plate used for printing plate number 196 for The Birds of America "Labrador Falcon" (known as Gyrfalcon) by John James Audubon and printed in London by Rovert Havell. This is one of the larger plates bacause the image almost fills the elephant folio sheets measuring approxiamtely 38 inches by 25 inches comprising the finished prints. The plate is in fine condition with the exception of a very few spots and finger prints."
