Scope and Contents

This collection includes a twelve volume scrapbook group entitled "Illustrations of North American Vegetation" organized by region and compiled of John W. Harshberger. The collection also includes a scrapbook of "Foreign Vegetation" and a copy of "The Vegetation of South Florida," the latter printed by the Wagner Free Institute of Science. The scrapbooks are a combination of photographs taken by Harshberger, Henry Troth, etc., postcards, and illustrations cut from books or periodicals. The costum bindings for the scrapbooks bear the date 1911, but many of the images within the scrapbooks are labeled with later dates through 1917.
