Scope and Contents Between 1932 and 1935 Howard made summer expeditions to the gravel pit near Clovis, excavating for evidences of early man in America. These trips were sponsored by the University Museum and the Academy of Natural Sciences both of Philadelphia, the Carnegie Institution and California Institute of Technology.
