The collection consists of a mounted wooden model of the earth, with hollow ends illustrating the theories of John Cleves Symmes made by James McBride; a bound volume of newspaper clippings reporting on Symmes' lectures, 1819-1855; a handbill signed by Symmes, 1818; a copy of The Hollow Earth (1979) by Raymond Bernard; photographs of the model globe, 1874-2000; and photocopies of articles and newspaper clippings (1869-1971).
