Overview

Dr. Thomas L. Bradford (1847-1918) was a practicing homeopathic physician in Maine, Europe and Philadelphia. While practicing and teaching in Philadelphia he served as curator for the Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital of Philadelphia. From 1896 to 1916, he collected, organized and maintained material for 35 scrapbooks of biographical information about homeopathic physicians.

John Hubley Schall earned his medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in 1893. Materials represent the life and work of Dr. Schall, his wife, Nina Schall, M.D. (Cornell Medical School, 1906) and probably their son, John Schall, also a physician, who likely owned some of the journals in the collection. Dr. Thomas “Bud” Dunning [1876-1954] was a graduate of Hahnemann Medical College, class of 1902. After graduating, Dr. Dunning was a practicing physician in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and later in Nevada.
